The polyethylene, without the addition of special pigments, does not allow the transfer of color. The pigments are not well accepted in the pipe and cable industry, because they are expensive and they change the composition of the product.
Gnata developed the in-line printer for polyethylene pipes.
To better identify the marking, we developed an innovative principle, unique to the world, that consists of the thermal transfer of colored tape with a continuous stripe.
Subsequently, the laser source will rub off the pigment creating a negative marking result. This principle allows for marking not only the lettering and characteristics of the pipe but also bar codes, QR codes, size, date and time of production, logos, brand names and codes. The software is developed by our company and this innovative principle allows you to manage the two units, the continuous stripe station and the laser unit, in an intuitive and user-friendly way.
We provide units with CO2 150W or 300W laser source, 50W or 100W fiber laser source, and ultraviolet laser source. The choice of the source depends on the pipe or cable color since the plastic material reacts differently depending on the source used. Several models are available for a speed from 20 to 80 m/min and up to 250-300 m/min for PE pipes with incorporated drip. Indent marking without colour for PE pipes with incorporated drip.
