OPTIONS:

 

Tape Management System

  • Venturi device – Device for the suction of the used ribbon after the marking phase. The used ribbon is collected in a stainless container, complete with filter and boosted aspirator to improve the vacuum.
  • Venturi device with motorized cutter – System, as above, with a revolutionary system, 100% made by Gnata, for motorized cutting of the tape to reduce considerably its volume and increase the capacity of collection of the used tape into the stainless steel container.
  • End-of-tape alarm – Device to inform the operator about the end of the ribbon for hot-marking, with acoustic and luminous signal. The operator will be able to effect a timely change of the ribbon to avoid production of unmarked pipe.

  • Tape breakage alarm – Optic fiber device to detect any breakage in the hot-marking ribbon, warning the operator with an acoustic and luminous signal. The operator will be able to reposition the ribbon on time to avoid production of unmarked pipe.

  • Color reading device – Device with optic fiber to monitor constantly the produced pipe and take action in case the ribbon is stuck, avoiding the complete unwinding of the ribbon by dragging and the stopping of the production.

  • Tandem device

    Device for the installation of two ribbons for hot-marking, one in use and one in stand-by. When the ribbon in use has ended, the operator will change it with the ribbon in stand-by with a simple and timely operation, improving the time required for the change.

  • Accumulator device for tandem ribbon – Device to keep in constant tension the hot-marking ribbon, and reach a faster marking speed. The ribbon is loaded in the accumulator pipe, two optic fibres of max. and min. level control the automatic unwinding of the ribbon. Working autonomy granted by two pancake rolls, 3000m in length, manual change. Max. marking speed of the machine equipped with Accumulator device: 50m/min.

  • Accumulator device for one jumbo coil – Device to keep in constant tension the hot-marking ribbon, and reach higher marking speeds. The ribbon is loaded in the accumulator pipe, two optic fibers of max. and min. level control the automatic unwinding of the ribbon.
    Including inverter for the dynamic management of the unwinding speed and of the suction power, with possibility to optimize the tape consumption, with device for on-the-fly tape change. Working autonomy granted by one Jumbo coil 20.000m long. Max. marking speed of the machine equipped with Accumulator device: 150m/min.

  • Counters for measurement in meters or feet:

  • Mechanical counters with 3-4-5 digits, character height from 2.5 to 7mm, for progressive measurement in meters with each revolution of the marking wheel. Including device for manual zero reset.
  • Mechanical counters with 3-4 digits, character height from 2.5 to 7mm, for the printing of the coil number, with manual zero reset.
  • Automatic reset of the mechanical counter – Device for automatic reset with visualization of the production on the control panel. By programming the required length of the coil in the control panel, when the programmed measure is reached the mechanical counter will be reset, with an acoustic and luminous signal for the operator. An impulse will be sent to the cutting unit for the cutting phase. This option is referred to the Mechanical Counter.
  • Coil-counter with 3-4 digits and automatic advancement of the digits – Mechanical device with 3-4 digits, height of the characters 2.5-7mm. It is suitable for the marking of the number of the coil being produced, from =0000= to =9999=. At the reset phase of the mechanical counter, an impulse will be sent to the coil counter for the increase of the digits of one unit. It is installed on the marking wheel of the machine, and it is complete with support. To be considered along with the option Mechanical Counter and the option Automatic Reset of the Mechanical Counter.
  • Pneumatic device for the advancing of the number of meters, when the marking wheel is moved away from the pipe/cable to achieve a correct measurement except for few meters which are not marked. Option complete with additional encoder which remains always in contact with the pipe/cable.
  • Mechanical coder with automatic change of the production hour 01-12 AM 01-12 PM
  • Variable marking pitch:

  • Device for choice of marking pitch – The device for the choice of the marking pitch allows the operator to change the marking pitch of the machine. By programming the required marking pitch in the control panel of the machine, the marking machine will not mark continuously but according to the program (each 1, 2, 3, … m). Max. marking speed of the machine equipped with option choice of the marking pitch: 20m/min.
  • Marking wheel drive for a great accuracy of the marked length:

  • Motorization with three-phase motor and drive with encoder – For an accurate reading, with a digital instrument for correction of 0.1 mm, with special software from Gnata to accelerate the machine and reach the measurement of meters passed without markings.
  • Torque assist brush-less motor, with drive and encoder – For speed detection and for fine adjustment until when the right measurement in meters or feet is obtained.
  • Pneumatic opening of the pipe/cable guide group:

  • Pneumatic device with two arms for opening of the guide wheels to allow the passage of any variations in diameter.
  • Pneumatic device with three carts for opening of the guide wheels to allow the passage of any variations in diameter.
  • Opening of the upper marking group:

  • For the upper group with adjustable counterweight to ensure a constant contact and the suitable pressure on the product to allow the passage of any variations in diameter or imperfections.
  • Temperature regulator without contact:

  • Infrared detector with laser pointer and digital instrument for constant setting and reading of the temperature of the marking wheel.

  • Special applications:

  • Siemens PLC to control the complex machine functions, with dialogue with your line and adjustment to the requirements of the Industry 4.0.
  • Motorisation of the upper and lower axis by panel to facilitate any adjustments when the diameter changes.
  • Pipe guide wheels with concave section for a more accurate guiding and hardening of the wall to be marked.
  • Onboard encoder for a correct length reading.
  • Mechanical coders:

  • Coders or date-groups with 3 to 12 digits, with manual advance for the printing of the lot number or of the date, 2.5 to 7mm in height.
  • Coders for printing of the pipe diameter and thickness, with 6 digits (Ø32×3.0), with 8 digits (Ø125×12.5), with manual advance, 3.5 to 7 mm in height with 9 digits (Ø1200×40,5), 5 to 7mm in height
  • Conversion of an existing marking machine to print feet-meters:

  • Kit to convert an existing machine to print feet or meters with all automatism for automatic zero reset of meters-feet, coil number.
  • Special models for marking of writings longer than 1000 mm :

  • Special model with double marking station for marking up to 2000 mm.

This picture shows a printer with 2 ft. marking wheel. Combination version: a kit of components is supplied with the machine to enable the customer to convert to metric operation. The change from 2 ft. to metric pitch takes approximately 5 minutes.
